Ocean Way

Ocean Way Audio was born from the experience of Allen Sides, a five-time Grammy-winning engineer and producer who started building custom loudspeakers as a teenager and, in 1974, opened his first recording studio in Santa Monica, California, where his acoustic designs found their proving ground. In 1988 he acquired the historic United Western Recorders in Hollywood, renaming it Ocean Way Recording: the same rooms where thousands of records were cut for artists like Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra and Coldplay.

From this hands-on studio experience came Ocean Way Audio, which builds high-fidelity studio monitors and loudspeakers: the HR, Sausalito, Eureka and HRA series, plus S-series subwoofers and surround monitoring systems. Every model is developed and validated in the same professional listening rooms that shaped the sound of hundreds of award-winning productions.
